Authorities seized more than $1 million in narcotics and firearms during a raid at a Houston apartment complex where drug dealers likely tied to the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua were operating with impunity, according to reports.

On Wednesday, Harris County Constable Alan Rosen announced the bust, believed to be the largest in history for Precinct One.

Constable Rosen revealed that an investigation was launched last year after patrol officers pulled over multiple suspicious vehicles near the complex and discovered drugs in all of them.

Dealers operating out of multiple apartments were servicing as many as 30 cars per hour, investigators say.

Five men were arrested in the bust and two more people were turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), indicating they may be in the country illegally.

Contraband seized included kilograms of meth, cocaine, and ecstasy, along with black tar heroin, more than 200 pounds of marijuana, and 24 firearms – several of which were stolen.

A religious shrine was discovered in one of the apartments which authorities believe may have been erected to ward off law enforcement.

“I can’t imagine a family living in this complex, and the amount of traffic coming through there, and the amount of people that were addicted to drugs, and the illegal activities that were going on there,” Constable Rosen said.

“I’m sure they saw it every day, their kids saw it every day, and you know, we’re sick and tired of it.”

Multiple agencies are participating in the ongoing probe, including the Texas Department of Public Safety, Houston Police Department, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the U.S. Marshals Service.

More arrests may follow, Rosen said.
