The harpies at “The View” turned on fellow co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin Tuesday after she noted Democrat candidates don’t want endorsements from Joe Biden or House Speaker Nancy Pelosi due to the stigma of inflation.
Griffin highlighted the fact the average US family is making $6,000 less as a result of soaring inflation, and pointed out Democrats like Ohio US Senate candidate Tim Ryan are running “away” from Biden and Pelosi.
“Blame Biden or don’t, but there is a reason that Tim Ryan is running in Ohio away from Biden and away from Nancy Pelosi and this is a state that both times nominated Barack Obama to be president but then flipped to Donald Trump…Workers feel like they’re not getting the most out of the economy under the Biden agenda,” Griffin said.
“And then so what will the Republican Party do?” co-host Joy Behar asked, with co-host Sunny Hostin, chiming in, “Do you think those same people understand that the little bit of money that they did get, every single Republican voted against it?”
Griffin shot back, correctly noting, “There’s a reason that Democrats are not running on the payments they did during Covid because they added to inflation.”
“I wish I could give every American $2,000, $2,000, but it adds to inflation and this crisis…” Griffin attempted to inform her co-hosts.
While it’s debatable whether they were the catalyst, even the US Federal Reserve at this point admits Biden Covid-era stimulus payments at least contributed to rapid inflation.
“…The large increase in demand triggered by the fiscal stimulus policy, together with the slow pace of adjustment in production, likely contributed to the current imbalance in the goods market, resulting in the depletion of inventories, pronounced bottlenecks, and ultimately inflation,” the Fed wrote in July.
Griffin, who served under President Trump as White House director of strategic communications and assistant to the president, gets it, while her co-hosts are spinning their wheels attempting to defend an indefensible position.
Elsewhere in Tuesday’s episode, host Joy Behar lamented the fact more Americans aren’t concerned about Jan. 6 and the supposed “threat to democracy.”
“Well, what’s depressing is that the New York Times released a poll today that says that 70% of voters agree that democracy is under threat. But only 7% of voters rank a threat to democracy as a major issue this election cycle,” she said.
“I find that so depressing, I can’t begin to tell you. The Republican Party is happy to let corporations never pay another tax the rest of their days, they will cut Social Security, they’re going to cut lunches for children.”
“They are not going to help you, so why would you vote for them? And yet, I see that it’s very close, that people are not understanding what the stakes are. And I find it, I find it sad and depressing.”
The segment illustrates how out of touch elitist Democrats who aren’t feeling the sting of inflation are with everyday Americans.
