Former President Donald Trump blasted Vice President Kamala Harris and her running-mate Tim Walz as phoneys, at his latest rally in Bozeman, Montana.

In front of a packed stadium, Trump said that Harris was dodging media appearances.

“When you’re the commander in chief, you don’t go to the run and hide away from the press,” Trump said.

Harris has been widely criticized for her outright refusal to give interviews or hold press conferences in the three weeks since she became the Democrat presidential candidate. The last time she held a press conference was in December of 2023, and her last interview was the notorious “Momala” interview with Hollywood actress Drew Barrymore.

“If you can’t do a press conference, you can’t be president,” Trump added.

He also took aim at Harris and Walz for their records in office and, in Walz’s case, in the military.

“You know, they run and they want to go on a record that’s a fake record. They have a fake record, both of them.”

Walz has been criticized for claiming to have carried weapons for the US “in war,” despite never being deployed to a battlefield in his 24 years in the National Guard, and for retiring to avoid going to Iraq with his battalion.

When Trump mentioned Walz directly by name, the crowd booed.

“If comrade Walz and comrade Harris win this November, the people cheering will be the pink-haired Marxist, the looters, the perverts, the flag burners, Hamas supporters, drug dealers, gun grabbers, and human traffickers.”

Trump was in Montana to support Republican Senate candidate and former Navy SEAL Tim Sheehy.

Polls suggest Sheehy currently has the edge over incumbent Sen. Jon Tester. Trump called Tester a “radical,” and said that he has “the biggest stomach I’ve ever seen.”

Sheehy joined Trump on stage and described how he was inspired to run for office by Biden’s chaotic withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan.

“I was on my phone trying to get American citizens, allies, interpreters, people that fought alongside us to fight the terrorists [out of the country],” Sheehy said.

“Joe Biden abandoned them in Afghanistan. He left them behind and he left billions of dollars of equipment.”

The run-up to the rally, which some are estimating was attended by tens of thousands of people, was not without incident. The former president experienced a scare when his plane had to be diverted to Billings due to mechanical problems.
