President Donald Trump has vowed to intervene in Texas’ lawsuit filed with the US Supreme Court challenging the 2020 election results in Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
“We will be INTERVENING in the Texas (plus many other states) case. This is the big one. Our Country needs a victory!” the president declared Wednesday.
This means “Trump’s team could file an amicus brief in support of Texas’ suit,” Fox News reports.
The president also clarified Wednesday he believes Texas’ case has more merit than the Pennsylvania case SCOTUS weighed in on Tuesday.
Late Monday, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a lawsuit against the four states with the Supreme Court, claiming the states’ elections violated the Constitution’s Equal Protection Clause.
Lawmakers in Arkansas, Louisiana and Missouri are also backing Texas’ lawsuit.
