Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) wrote a letter on Thursday asking FBI Director Christopher Wray to withhold from investigating the Biden family’s recently revealed corrupt business dealings until after the 2020 election.
“We write regarding press reports concerning materials allegedly describing activities by Hunter Biden, and found on a laptop at a Delaware repair shop,” the pair wrote. “We are deeply concerned about the possibility that in response to these reports the Trump administration will take actions before Election Day that would seek to damage the Democratic presidential candidate and undermine the rule of law.”
The letter shows Democrats are concerned about President Trump asking AG Barr to take action sooner than later.
“We’ve got to get the Attorney General to act and to act fast,” POTUS recently stated.
Schumer and Wyden are also worried about Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani talking about the documents found in Hunter Biden’s laptop, dismissing the bombshell information as “a longstanding effort by Russia” to denigrate Biden.
However, the FBI, DOJ and DNI Ratcliffe’s recently confirmed Hunter’s laptop and emails in question were not part of a Russian disinformation campaign.
In what could be a suable offense, the pair wrote, “As is widely known, Mr.Giuliani for years has partnered with Kremlin-linked individuals in an effort to manufacture dirton the former Vice President.”
Closing their letter, the top Democrats ask that FBI Director Wray “resist pressure from President Trump and other partisan actors to take any actions intended to benefit President Trump politically on the eve of the election.Succumbing to such pressure would deeply undermine our national security interests and the credibility of law enforcement, and could have devastating consequences for the resiliency of our democracy.”
