President Donald Trump’s approval ratings have reached a record high, with more Americans approving of him than when he first entered the White House eight years ago,
CNN’s senior data reporter Harry Enten looked in-depth at data showing Trump’s favorability ratings since returning to office this week.
“He’s in a better position than he was at any point during his entire first term,” Enten said.
“Things have very much turned around.”
Trump began his first term with a net negative approval rating of -3, but he now enjoys a +6 approval rating, a nine-point increase.
Trump’s approval ratings are currently higher than at any point during his first term, when his highest approval rating was +3.
“This is a very different Donald Trump. He’s leading a very different administration the way he’s attacking things, and the American public is very much more in line with him than they were at any point during his entire first term,” Enten continued.
He also noted that Trump is the first president to be more popular at the beginning of his second term than at any point during his first.
