Two illegal aliens from Venezuela have been arrested after fleeing the scene of a fatal crash on a Texas lake over the holiday weekend, according to reports.

The shocking incident unfolded on Sunday on Grapevine Lake, located near Dallas.

Authorities say 18-year-old Ava Moore was kayaking when an out-of-control jet ski carrying two women struck her from behind at a high rate of speed.

Bystanders pulled Moore to shore, but she later died in hospital after suffering traumatic head injuries, Fox 4 reports.

The women on the jet ski apparently failed to stop or render aid and were subsequently confronted by witnesses, however, other members of the their party reportedly helped the primary suspect escape in a vehicle.

“I looked towards the water and saw her and the passenger on the jet ski going away from the incident. They were waving toward their people, and you could tell they were trying to get away,” a witness said.

Videos purportedly shot in the moments following the deadly collision show physical altercations breaking out as the women attempted to make a getaway.

Eventually, a woman identified as the driver of the jet ski was whisked away in a vehicle by a man who struck two other cars and kept going, authorities say.

On Tuesday, Texas authorities arrested the pair at a residence in the Oak Cliff district of Dallas.

Daikerlyn Alejandra Gonzalez Gonzalez, 21, was charged with second-degree felony manslaughter and ordered held on $500,000 bond.

Maikel Coello Perozo, 21, was charged with accident involving injury and is expected to face additional charges for helping Gonzalez abscond.

Both suspects are Venezuelan citizens who are illegally present in the U.S., Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton confirmed in a press release.

Ava Moore graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy Preparatory School on May 19 and was scheduled to start basic training in weeks.

An investigation is ongoing.
