Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), 82, tripped down the Senate stairs Wednesday, prompting concerns after he suffered another fall just weeks ago.
McConnell reportedly needed help up from Sens. Steve Daines (R-Mo.) and Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla.).
“McConnell falls down Senate stairs after voting to confirm Scott Turner as HUD Secretary,” reported Fox News correspondent Chad Pergram, adding, “Unclear about injuries. But Fox is told he appears to be ok.”
The incident comes as McConnell tripped at a Senate lunch in December, spraining his wrist and cutting his face.

Before that, McConnell had prompted worry over his state of health after he froze up and abruptly stopped speaking at two separate events in 2023.

McConnell has evidently been tripping on stairs for a while now, as video from over 10 years ago shows him tripping while getting on stage at a campaign event.
McConnell indicated last year he plans to step down when his term is over in Jan. 2027.
The Kentucky senator’s multiple public health-related episodes have been cited as reasons for Congress to impose term limits on elected representatives.
