American businessman Mark Cuban revealed on social media over the weekend he’s been violating federal laws by discriminating against potential employees based on their race and sex.
Responding to user “The Rabbit Hole,” who posted about running a colorblind meritocracy where the merits of an individual are used to judge hiring candidates instead of their race, Cuban noted, “I’ve never hired anyone based exclusively on race, gender, religion.”
He went on to admit, “I only ever hire the person that will put my business in the best position to succeed. And yes, race and gender can be part of the equation. I view diversity as a competitive advantage. “
A commissioner from the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (@USEEOC) commented on Cuban’s post to set him straight, writing, “Unfortunately you’re dead wrong on black-letter Title VII law. As a general rule, race/sex can’t even be a ‘motivating factor’—nor a plus factor, tie-breaker, or tipping point. It’s important employers understand the ground rules here.”
Libs of TikTok suggested Cuban “opened himself up to endless lawsuits” by saying he had previously given a competitive advantage to prospects based on race and gender.
Cuban co-owns the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks basketball team and hired Cynt Marshall as CEO in 2018 before recently selling a majority of his shares in the team for over $4 billion.
A video being shared online shows Marshall admitting she “made leadership changes” in the organization that left the team’s staff with almost 50% women and 47% minorities in leadership positions.
The left is openly promoting racism as long as it is white Americans who are getting the short end of the stick.
