Joe Biden signaled his administration aims to infringe on the Second Amendment during a CNN town hall Wednesday.
Biden rambled on about “gun violence” before going on to say people shouldn’t own weapons that can fire over twenty shots.
“I’m the only guy that ever … passed legislation when I was a senator to make sure we eliminated assault weapons,” Biden said, before going on to add pistols and rifles to that characterization.
“The idea you need a weapon that can have the ability to fire 20, 30, 40, 50, 120 shots from that weapon, whether it’s a 9mm pistol or whether it’s a rifle, is ridiculous. I’m continuing to push to eliminate the sale of those things.”
During the 2020 presidential campaign, Biden vowed to eliminate assault rifles and even claimed he would tap failed fellow Democrat candidate Beto O’Rourke to be his gun czar.
Once the election was successfully stolen, however, the optics of O’Rourke’s anti-gun promise that “Hell, yes, we’re going to take your AR-15, your AK-47,” may have been too on-the-nose for the newly installed administration.
According to Breitbart, Biden’s hint could put popular American gun manufacturers who produce 9mm pistols in the crosshairs.
“Biden’s mention of going after 9mm pistols opens the door to regulating wildly popular Glock, Heckler & Koch, Smith & Wesson, Sig Sauer, Kahr, Taurus, and Springfield Armory pistols, among many others,” reports AWR Hawkins.
Last month, Biden also stuck his foot in his mouth when he threatened nuclear war against American gun-owners, claiming they would need F-15s or nukes to take on the federal government.
