Promoting the release of his new book “2,000 Mules,” based on his documentary film of the same name, best-selling author Dinesh D’Souza interviewed Donald Trump about America’s ongoing election security issues and more.
To begin their discussion, D’Souza asked Trump why he continues to address the rigged 2020 election despite many political pundits suggesting conservatives “let it go.”
“Well, simply if you don’t have fair and free elections you’re not going to have a country. I say that about borders and elections,” Trump responded.
Continuing, Trump noted media outlets don’t like to write about the many irregularities in the 2020 election while the American public sees election integrity as the number two most important issue behind the economy, according to polls.
Later, the 45th President touched on the electronic voting machines used in modern elections, saying, “As far as machines are concerned, a lot of people just don’t want to get sued because you know they got spooked by the fact that legal letters were sent to them all over the place. I think that’s part of the reason the networks don’t want to talk about it, or at certainly the networks that are fair, of which there are few, because they don’t want to get sued.”
The former POTUS also explained how outlets like Fox News or Newsmax would be smart to cover the rigged election because it resonates with the people, using Arizona GOP gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake as an example of a person who hammers the subject and is extremely well-liked by voters.
“We’re like a third-world country right now,” Trump told D’Souza. “Our elections are no good, our borders are no good, we’ve got inflation at a level we’ve never seen before. We’re like a third-world country!”
During another part of the interview, Trump laid into the FBI, asking, “What’s going on with the FBI? People are so upset and angry with what’s happened with DOJ and the FBI.”
Trump claimed, “They used Covid in order to cheat,” in the election as well.
He also described how the FBI told Facebook to censor certain stories such as Hunter Biden’s laptop by claiming it was “Russian disinformation,” and how that alone could have made the difference in the election.
“It’s very sad what’s happened to this country in so many different ways,” Trump said. “Borders, the FBI, elections, I mean the country has never been in this position and we’re not respected anywhere in the world anymore. In fact, they’re mocking us all over the world. Now they mock our elections, they mock our law enforcement, they mock everything Dinesh.”
With midterms on the horizon, America will soon go through one of its most pivotal and politically hostile moments in recent history.
