An environmental protest conducted by Extinction Rebellion activists was ruined by a man who threw a participant into a nearby body of water.
The incident happened last week on the shores of a beach in Cornwall, UK, where Red Rebel Brigade activists gathered for a ceremony/performance art piece protesting the G7 Summit.
During the event at Carbis Bay, Red Brigade protesters attempted to traverse a path going out into the sea, when a random man ran up and took one of them down into the water.
The incident was serendipitously caught on film.
Amid the G7 meeting last week, Extinction Rebellion protesters outfitted in red cloaks were spotted throughout Cornwall and assumed by many on social media to be part of a satanic ritual.
Reuters pushed back against that theory, however, with a fact check confirming the individuals weren’t satanists, but simply misguided climate activists.
“The Red Rebel Brigade is a performance activist group that has been attending climate change demonstrations since 2019, according to its website (redrebelbrigade.com),” Reuters explained. “The concept was created by Bristol-based artist Doug Francisco, with groups now established in different cities.”
