Former First Lady Melania Trump condemned Democrat rhetoric comparing her husband to Nazi leader Adolf Hitler, warning the 2024 election cycle is “more dangerous” than previous campaigns following two assassination attempts.

“Mrs. Trump, you said that this campaign cycle feels like 2016 in excitement and enthusiasm,” noted Fox News’ Peter Doocy, adding, “but something is different, and that is two different people tried to kill your husband and you saw it live on television. This is all different.”

“It is different,” Melania acknowledged during the unscripted appearance on “Fox & Friends” Tuesday. “It’s much more dangerous and I am very vigilant and very selective where I go, what do I do, because you never know. It’s one person, and it’s very dangerous out there.”

Asked what she thought of the left’s attempts to paint Trump as Hitler, Melania criticized the hateful rhetoric pointing to the legions that support her husband.

“What do you think about the rhetoric that’s out there today? They’re still calling your husband a second Hitler how does that make you feel? Because you know him better than anyone,” asked commentator Lawrence B. Jones.

“It is terrible,” Melania responded. “He is not Hitler and his supporters stand behind him because they want to see our country successful. We see what kind of support he has.”

Doocy later followed up, “Given the fact there have been two assassination attempts, when he’s at the door about to go to work, do you say something different to him as you send him out the door?”

Melania replied, “I always say to him, ‘Good luck and be safe.’ You never know what kind of phone call you will receive and what can happen in life. Life is fragile, and we need to enjoy it every day.”

“Do you feel like God has a purpose for him?” asked Fox News’ host Ainsley Earhardt.

“Yes, yes,” Melania agreed.

Elsewhere in her appearance, the former First Lady discussed protecting the next generation of children, her latest book, Melania, and took questions from audience members about why she’s now campaigning with her husband and how he reconciles her views on abortion.
