Fed-up New Yorkers are now tossing uncollected garbage onto Mayor Bill de Blasio’s lawn, new viral footage shows.
The incident marks a tipping point in local sentiment towards de Blasio, who recently put 20% of sanitation workers on leave for refusing his vaccine mandate.
Now, massive piles of trash remain uncollected across the city due to delayed garbage collection linked to staff shortages.

Despite now being on unpaid leave, the sanitation workers remain resolute in their protest against de Blasio’s mandate.
“We’re being forced to do something against our will,” says Michael Cancelleri, who has been a sanitation worker for 17 years.
“I’m scared I’m going to lose a job that I love more than anything, a job that puts food on our table, on my family’s table.”
