President Trump on Thursday made good on his promise to pre-empt the broadcast of a 60 Minutes interview by releasing his own uncut version, accusing the program’s interviewer Lesley Stahl of bias.

“Look at the bias, hatred and rudeness on behalf of 60 Minutes and CBS,” the president posted to social media, adding, “Tonight’s anchor, Kristen Welker, is far worse!” referring to the second presidential debate moderator.

According to the New York Post, no president’s ever released a network interview ahead of its scheduled broadcast.

“The White House video was recorded for archival purposes,” reported the NY Post. “It’s unprecedented for a president to release footage of a TV interview before its television broadcast.”

The president made the move after reports he abruptly ended the interview with Stahl after being frustrated by her tough questions, but footage shows he was actually more upset by her hostile demeanor.

In a tweet, the president criticized Stahl’s “attempted ‘takeout’ interview” and called out her “constant interruptions & anger.”

“Compare my full, flowing and ‘magnificently brilliant’ answers to their ‘Q’s’,” the president tweeted.

In one exchange, the president pointed out how his campaign was spied on by the Obama administration.

“They spied on my campaign and they got caught,” Trump says, to which Stahl counters, “No.”

“And then they went much further than that,” the president continues. “And they got caught. And you will see that Leslie, and you know that.”

“As a matter of fact, I DON’T know that,” Stahl replies.

Here’s another clip from the interview, in which Stahl deflects when the president brings up the Bidens’ “laptop from hell.”

Towards the end of Trump’s video, the interview unravels as Stahl claims she didn’t mean to conduct such a hostile interview.

“You know, I didn’t want to have this kind of [unintelligible],” Stahl tells the president at the end of the interview.

“Of course you did,” Trump tells her, as she replies, “No, I didn’t.”

“Well, then you brought up a lot of subjects that were inappropriately brought up,” the president tells Stahl, arguing 60 Minutes did a much less contentious interview with Democrat opponent Joe Biden.

“Lesley, you started with me, your first statement was, ‘Are you ready for tough questions?’ That’s no way to talk.”

Prior to releasing the video, Trump published a short behind-the-scenes clip showing an unmasked Stahl speaking with two people.

“Lesley Stahl of 60 Minutes not wearing a mask in the White House after her interview with me. Much more to come,” the president highlighted.

60 Minutes’ edited version of the interview is set to air Sunday on CBS.
