A United Methodist Church in Florida hosted a session where children were told drag queen ideology aligns with the Bible, in what many are calling a blasphemous perversion of Christian principles.
In a clip highlighted by Twitter user @WokePreacherTV, two young girls sat on the steps of the altar in front of the church’s congregation while a preacher explained which Bible verse pertained to drag queen Ms. Penny Cost’s degenerate lifestyle.
Romans 12:2 (“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind”) is now a pro-drag queen Bible verse pic.twitter.com/ls2OfXJh3T

“Well, one of the things I think is great about Ms. Penny Cost is she reminds us that we follow a God that calls us to not conform to things of this world, that we’re supposed to be transformed by the renewal of our minds,” the church’s woke preacher said to the girls, twisting the meaning of Romans 12:2.
“That means that what I think today may have to change tomorrow if I continue to renew my mind. And it’s so cool that we serve a God that calls us to continue to grow and continue to change into something new and to not be bound by the ways that the world confines us sometimes, that we’re supposed to live differently.”
The drag queen in the video, Ms. Penny Cost AKA Isaac Simmons, is evidently a drag queen pastor and self-styled “drag-evangelist” who has previously espoused controversial teachings claiming God sanctions drag and queerness, according to The Blaze.
In one video posted to his website, Simmons recited a poem in which he proclaimed “God is nothing,” “the Bible is nothing,” and “religion is nothing.”
“God is nothing, but if she were, she would be yes, queen-ing her way down the runways of Paris and Montreal, strutting between that tightrope pulled taught between absurdity and opulence, balancing between too much and never enough,” he stated. “Nothing, but if she were, she would be a seamstress of divine couture, weaving together string theory and self portraits to form the fiercest gowns of queer existence.”
“God is nothing but a drag queen with a microphone of biblical f***ing proportions.”
The United Methodist Church’s acceptance of the drag queen’s radical liberal ideologies has exacerbated rifts in the institution, which was already reportedly on the verge of splitting before the Covid pandemic in 2020.
“In a church preparing to split over LGBTQ issues, the drag queen pastor, who embraces queer theology while barely attempting to plaster on the basic tenets of Christian theology, has become a lightning rod,” writes Ellie Gardey for Spectator.org. “Conservatives argue that Simmons’ role as a celebrated figure among progressive Methodists proves the church has become so radically liberal as to forswear Christ. Progressives promote Simmons and invite him to preach in drag as a way to challenge the conservative position on sexuality that the denomination officially still takes.”
“The United Methodist Church was ready to split in 2020, but that has been postponed until 2024 because its quadrennial general conference was canceled due to COVID-19. The liberal wing will retain the denomination’s name and permit same-sex marriage while the conservatives will join a new denomination where same-sex marriage is forbidden.”
The video clip evoked consternation from Christians on social media:
Oh my.
God's patience is amazing.
But Acts 17:31 reminds us that the resurrection is proof that someday, judgment will be done in righteousness.

Wow. To hate God so much and be so out and honest about your hate for The One True God in favor of your "cool god" that wants you to change into whomever you want to be is pretty serious.

For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

Right out of Satan’s playbook in twisting God’s word. “You won’t surely die.” “He’ll command His angels concerning you.” “ On their hands they will bear you up.” Pure satanism we are witnessing here.

He twists Scripture like his father, the Devil, did in the garden with Eve.

It's convenient that this "pastor" left out the rest of verse 2, which immediately contradicts his intended use; and verses 1 and 3 also explicitly contradict this blasphemy.

Here’s the full worship service where Ms. Penny Cost appeared:
So really all there is to say about this Florida United Methodist church inviting Simmons to speak (and to address the 2 children in attendance) is from 2 John 11: "Anyone who welcomes them shares in their wicked work."
