Officials of the Biden regime lashed out against Congressional Republicans on Wednesday over their effort to repeal the COVID vaccine mandate for the military through a renewed defense package.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre and communications director John Kirby called the rescinding of the vaccine mandate through the 2023 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) a “mistake” that will hurt military readiness.
“Republicans in Congress have decided that they’d rather fight against the health and well-being of our troops than protecting them, and we believe it is a mistake,” Jean-Pierre told reporters during a press briefing.
“Making sure our troops are prepared and ready for service is a priority for President Biden and the vaccination requirement for COVID does just that.”

National Security Council coordinator for strategic communications John Kirby echoed that talking point almost verbatim.
“We continue to believe that repealing the vaccine mandate is a mistake. Making sure our troops are ready to defend this country and prepared to do so that remains the President’s priority and the vaccine requirement for Covid does just that,” Kirby told reporters when asked if Biden would sign the final version of the NDAA.
Kirby continued, “But Republicans in Congress have obviously decided that they’d rather fight against the health and well-being of those troops, rather than protecting them.”
A final version of the NDAA was unveiled on Tuesday which includes a provision introduced by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) that would end the Pentagon’s policy requiring troops to receive the experimental Covid shot.
Cruz will also introduce other measures not included in the new NDAA that would reinstate military members wrongfully terminated for refusing the COVID shot and compensating them with back pay.
“The removal and reprimand of our service members during the largest land war in Europe since World War II, while in the midst of a recruiting crisis, may very well be the most irrational decision made by a sitting president,” Cruz told Fox News Digital on Wednesday.
“The advancement of this mandate repeal is a significant victory for every soldier, sailor, airman and Marine out there willing to defend our country, as well as their families.”
“Let me just say this to every service member who was forced to resign, or retire, or was demoted or demeaned for making their own choice on the COVID vaccine: I will not stop fighting for you,” he continued. “You placed your country’s needs ahead of your own and many of you have made sacrifices we can never repay you for. We will not stop fighting until this is reversed, corrections are issued and benefits are restored.”
This comes as recruitment numbers in every branch of the military have seen steep declines in recent years, which Congressional Republicans blame in part on the COVID vaccine mandate.

The other factors may have something to do with Biden’s “woke” push in military ranks.
