An actress made a head-turning statement on the red carpet amid Sunday’s Oscars ceremony, suggesting black Americans consider moving to Africa due to the US’s volatile political climate.
Asked by a reporter what she wished was “talked about more within our community,” actress KJ Smith responded, “Understanding our roots.”
“I think it’s really important,” she said, adding, “I think we’re not trapped here.”
The star of BET’s Sistas went on to suggest America is in turmoil under Donald Trump, and implied black Americans could move to Africa if they want.
“With the political climate that’s going on in the United States of America, we are not trapped here. There are places that we can go,” she said.
“There are countries that are receiving us back — citizenship back — with open arms, and I think that it’s time for the black community, as a whole, to start looking into those resources.”
The actress was dragged on social media over her inane opinion, with many pointing out it’s the Democrat party’s divisive identity politics that has made America inhospitable for blacks.

Does she know how dumb she sounds?
My guess is no.
These two definitely seem oppressed to me. 🙄

As she’s getting interviewed on the red carpet. Oh, yes, I can see how terrible America has been for her. 🙄

The out-of-touch limousine liberal apparently didn’t get the memo that it’s a new day in America and more black Americans support Trump than ever before.
The Oscars… That annual occasion when elites who have nothing in common with regular people think they speak for them.
