A California woman quite literally made her voice heard during a San Diego Board of Supervisors meeting over COVID restrictions.

Wearing a Santa hat, the woman who called herself Bridgette, stepped up to the mic on Tuesday to voice her opposition to the board’s public health emergency extension with a rendition of Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You.”

“I don’t want a lot for Christmas, just body autonomy. I don’t care about the variance because of natural immunity,” she sang, noting the effectiveness of ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine.

“I just want my freedom now,” the woman sang. “The Constitution will show us how. Make my dreams come true. Baby, end the emergency. Let’s have a happy holiday, everybody.”

An extension of San Diego’s emergency health order was approved in a 3-2 vote in light of the mild Omicron variant, but one of the board members noted that if the county is “willing to turn people away from working at the County of San Diego, hospitals, doctor’s offices, police officers, firefighters, and many other industries” over the vaccine, “(then) this emergency is over.”
