Former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino talked with Tucker Carlson and Donald Trump Jr. at the Republican National Convention Tuesday, claiming United States Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle is being by the Biden administration to lie about the Donald Trump assassination attempt.
NEW: Dan Bongino says an “unimpeachable source” tells him that someone was supposed to be on the roof where Thomas Crooks shot from but “didn’t show up.”

Bongino mentioned Cheatle’s Monday interview with ABC News where she blamed the alleged security lapse on a roof that had too much of a slope for agents to safely stand.
“That building in particular has a sloped roof, at its highest point. And so, there’s a safety factor that would be considered there that we wouldn’t want to put somebody up on a sloped roof. And so, the decision was made to secure the building, from inside,” Cheatle told ABC News.
However, “an unimpeachable source” told Bongino there was supposed to be an officer posted on the roof where Thomas Matthew Crooks shot from but that they “didn’t show up” and “no one knows why.”
Bongino called the slope allegation a “nonsense story they’re putting out in the media” and said his source revealed Cheatle’s job was threatened by DHS Secretary Mayorkas if she didn’t go along with the lie.
Now, despite overseeing a historic failure, Cheatle is refusing to step down as USSS chief.
Bongino later claimed a tactical team that was supposed to be on the roof decided to place themselves at a second-story window inside the building.

Bongino accused the USSS of "bullsh*tting" and lying to the American people.

The internet is already roasting Secret Service for the slope excuse, with one meme showing the sniper team that shot Crooks was on a much steeper incline than the roof deemed too dangerous for agents.
