Jill and I join Catholics around the world, and so many others, in mourning the passing of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI. I had the privilege of spending time with Pope Benedict at the Vatican in 2011 and will always remember his generosity and welcome as well as our meaningful conversation. He will be remembered as a renowned theologian, with a lifetime of devotion to the Church, guided by his principles and faith. As he remarked during his 2008 visit to the White House, “the need for global solidarity is as urgent as ever, if all people are to live in a way worthy of their dignity.” May his focus on the ministry of charity continue to be an inspiration to us all.
Original story below:
Self-described “devout Catholic” Joe Biden has so far been silent on the passing of former Pope Benedict XVI, who died early Saturday morning in the Vatican.

The Biden regime played the “devout Catholic” talking point when discussing his pro-abortion stance.
“I will just take the opportunity to remind all of you that he is a devout Catholic and somebody who attends church regularly,” said former press secretary Jen Psaki in Jan. 2021.
Outgoing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D), who has also described herself as a “devout Catholic,” offered a statement on the former pontiff’s death just moments ago.

Pelosi had repeatedly referred to herself as a “devout Catholic” who grew up in a “pro-life family” while defending her pro-abortion stance.

Biden had received the ire of numerous bishops over his stance on “abortion, contraception, marriage, and gender.”
President Biden cannot be both a devout Catholic and a pro-abortion zealot. The two are mutually exclusive. He is a poor, lost and confused soul. Truly, we need to pray for him, everyday.

Pope Benedict XVI, who served eight years as the Holy See of the Roman Catholic Church, was the first pontiff in 600 years to resign from his post.
He was also staunchly pro-life.
“Children truly are the family’s greatest treasure and most precious good. Consequently, everyone must be helped to become aware of the intrinsic evil of the crime of abortion,” the former pontiff had said. “In attacking human life in its very first stages, it is also an aggression against society itself.”
Meanwhile, Biden is currently vacationing in the U.S. Virgin Island of Saint Croix.
