An illegal alien from the Dominican Republic who may be wanted in his home country for homicide has been arrested for murdering a family of four in New York state, authorities say.
The horrifying incident unfolded sometime before 5 a.m. on August 31 in Irondequoit, a town on Lake Ontario in the Rochester suburbs.
The Irondequoit Police Department (IPD) initially received reports about a fire in a residential neighborhood.
Responding officers found four bodies inside a burning home and determined they had been killed before the blaze was set.
The victims were identified as Famime Ubaldo, 30, Marangely Moreno-Santiago, 26, Evangeline Ubaldo-Moreno, 4, and Sebastian Ubaldo-Moreno, 2
On Friday, IPD announced the arrest of 34-year-old Julio Cesar Pimentel Soriano, a citizen of the Dominican Republic.

“This individual is allegedly also wanted in that country for another murder from 2019. It appears Mr. Soriano entered the island of Puerto Rico illegally and obtained fraudulent New York identification. With that identification, he was free to travel from Puerto Rico to the United States mainland,” IPD explained in a statement.
IPD says details about the investigation will remain limited as they attempt to locate additional suspects.

“This was a horrific scene. In almost 32 years of doing this job, I’ve never seen anything like it,” IPD Chief Scott Peters said in a press conference.
