Senator John Fetterman issued a warning to Kamala Harris during an appearance at the Atlantic Festival last Thursday.
The Pennsylvania Senator believes that Donald Trump’s influence in the state has only increased since the attempt on his life at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, in July.
Trump now has a “special kind of hold” on the state after the first assassination attempt, Fetterman said.
He noted an “energy” and “kinds of anger” on the ground in Pennsylvania than mean Kamala Harris cannot take victory for granted.

The Senator recounted his experiences during the 2016 election, when “Trump signs became like the state flower” and it soon became obvious to him that something was very wrong.
In 2016, Trump won the state by 45,000 votes, “changing the course of history.”
“That’s not just a small margin; it was part of a much larger narrative in Michigan and Wisconsin, where just 75,000 votes flipped the blue wall,” Fetterman said.
He also said that he knew the polls in 2020 weren’t accurate; although Biden went on to win the state.
“I said the same thing in 2020. People thought Biden had a four- or five-point margin, but that’s not true.”
Before Joe Biden dropped out over the summer, polls showed Trump with a five-point lead.
Fetterman now has his doubts about whether Harris can stop Pennsylvania from flipping red again.
“Trump is going to be strong… and we have to respect that,” he said.
