Fewer Border Crossings in a Month under Trump than in a Single Day under Biden

Border crossings have been radically reduced under President Donald Trump, reaching a monthly level that’s lower than the number who entered on a single day at the height of the Biden border crisis in 2023.

President Trump took to his social-media platform Truth Social to hail the news.

“The month of February, my first full month in Office, had the LOWEST number of Illegal Immigrants trying to enter our Country in History – BY FAR! There were only 8,326 apprehensions of Illegals by Border Patrol at the U.S. – Mexico Border, all of whom were quickly ejected from our Nation or, when necessary, prosecuted for crimes against the United States of America

“This means that very few people came – The Invasion of our Country is OVER. In comparison, under Joe Biden, there were 300,000 Illegals crossing in one month, and virtually ALL of them were released into our Country. Thanks to the Trump Administration Policies, the Border is CLOSED to all Illegal Immigrants. Anyone who tries to illegally enter the U.S.A. will face significant criminal penalties and immediate deportation.”

At the height of the Biden border crisis in 2023, as many as 11,000 illegals were crossing the southern border a day.

“For perspective, President Biden repeatedly had *single days* where apprehensions were 8k/9k/10k, /w a climax of 11k in December 2023,” posted Fox News reporter Bill Melugin, on X.

“One single day of apprehensions under Biden during the height of the border crisis was more than Trump’s entire first month in office. Remarkable numbers. All done via executive action, and a drastically different approach to messaging and consequences.”

After declaring a national emergency and sending troops to the border, crossings have fallen dramatically.

Border Patrol Chief Mike Banks told CBS news recently that crossings are down 94%.

Banks said that Border Patrol are now detaining an average of less than 300 migrants a day, compared to 4,800 apprehensions a day during the same period last year. The majority of migrants apprehended by the Biden administration were subsequently released into the US.

The Pentagon just announced it will deploy a further 3,000 troops and Stryker armored vehicles to the southern border.

According to officials, the deployment will help to “seal the border and protect the territorial integrity of the United States.” It will include a Stryker Brigade Combat Team and a General Support Aviation Battalion.

The additional deployment will bring the total number of troops at the border to 9,000, in addition to federal and state law-enforcement.

US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth commented on social media, “We are dead serious about 100% OPERATIONAL CONTROL of the southern border.”
