Gov. DeSantis Receives Rock Star Welcome At Florida’s ‘Largest Concert Since Pandemic Began’

Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) was treated to a rock star welcome when he made an appearance at the Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam festival over the weekend.

Taking the stage at the three-day festival in Panama City Beach, DeSantis slammed the lockdowns and Covid-19 celebrity Anthony Fauci.

“Florida chose freedom over Faucism,” DeSantis told the crowd prompting an eruption of applause.

“Open your states. Open your schools. Let people live their lives, (and) don’t make them wear masks,” DeSantis added as a message to other states still on lockdown. “You know Florida is always going to be open. We love having y’all here. God bless everybody, and God bless the United States of America.”

Lynard Skynard, Brad Paisley and Luke Bryan headlined the three-night festival attended by over 70,000 people.

On Monday, President Donald Trump said he’d consider DeSantis as a potential vice presidential running mate in a hypothetical 2024 re-election campaign ticket.
