Texas authorities arrested two illegal aliens wanted for heinous crimes against children during separate traffic stops.
On Saturday, Texas Department of Public Safety (TxDPS) Lt. Chris Olivarez announced the apprehensions of the fugitives during Operation Lone Star busts this month.
On Feb. 6, a TxDPS trooper pulled over a pickup truck for a traffic violation in Sullivan City, located in Hidalgo County.
The passenger, 40-year-old Armando Alonso-Cortez, had an active warrant for sexual assault of a child in nearby Alton.
Alonso-Cortez, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico, was arrested and transferred to the custody of the Alton Police Department.
On Feb. 11, TxDPS pulled over a vehicle in Socorro, a city in El Paso County.
Troopers discovered the driver, 26-year-old Carlos Daniel Espinoza-Arguello, was under a removal order by federal immigration authorities and was also a subject of interest in TxDPS case for sexual assault of a child.
Espinoza-Arguello, a criminal illegal alien from Venezuela, was processed by U.S. Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) and turned back over to TxDPS custody.
“His arrest led DPS Special Agents and ERO Agents to a stash house in the area where two illegal immigrants from Venezuela were taken into custody by ERO,” TxDPS explained in a press release.
