A man survived a kidnapping and fiery car crash after thieves slammed his vehicle into the side of a house last week in Seattle, Washington, authorities say.
The shocking incident unfolded at around 5 a.m. on Thursday morning in the Emerald City.
Police were called to the scene of a car fire at a residence in the Ravenna neighborhood.
They arrived and found a 63-year-old man injured at the scene.
Witnesses say the man crawled out of the trunk after the vehicle crashed into the home and caught fire.
Emergency workers extinguished the blaze and the victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The man told police he had been attacked by several suspects and then bound and forced into the trunk of his own car.
“One 18-year-old male, who matched the description of a possible suspect, was detained, questioned, and released. No other suspects were located,” Seattle Police explained in a press release.
An investigation is ongoing.
