According to reports out of Los Angeles, California, first responders are struggling to put out fires because depleted water reservoirs have left hydrants empty as nearly 3,000 acres have burned in the massive Palisades inferno.
Real estate developer Rick Caruso, who finished second to Karen Bass in Los Angeles’ mayoral election in a close race last year, told Fox 11 that “there is no water in the Palisades.”

We have a Mayor out of the country, we look like a THIRD WORLD COUNTRY, complete mismanagement and we have brush mitigation that should have been done decades ago.… pic.twitter.com/9sbVJYGmeF
“There is no water coming out of the fire hydrants,” he said. “This is an absolute mismanagement by the city. It’s not the firefighters’ fault, it’s the city. I’ve got to be very honest, we’ve got a mayor who is out of the country and we’ve got a city that’s burning, and there’s no resources to put out fires.”
Caruso also pointed out the brush in the hills near the city haven’t been “handled, mitigated, pruned, removed for 30 or 40 years.”
“They can’t fight a fire without water and the resources that are needed,” he added, referring to the fire department. “Everybody knew these winds were coming.”
The Los Angeles Times reported firefighters on emergency radio channels saying, “The hydrants are down,” and, “Water supply just dropped.”
Mayor Bass is being slammed by locals for being “useless” as she’s currently on a taxpayer-funded trip to Africa as the city burns.
Bass cut the Los Angeles Fire Department budget by a whopping $23 million in 2024!

Water pressure issues have prevented firefighters from putting out some of the blazes.

This is a failure in infrastructure which is a failure in leadership.
People pay taxes so these services work when needed.
