Gamers streaming on the popular platform Twitch could lose their incomes if they are caught playing the new Harry Potter release because the franchise is based on books written by author J.K. Rowling who the left has deemed “transphobic.”
According to social media influencer Ian Miles Cheong, Twitch streamers could be boycotted for playing the Hogwarts Legacy game thanks to activists who created a website that tracks those who stream the new Harry Potter.
“Expect your sponsors to leave you over transphobia,” he warned.
In fact, a liberal gamer running the YouTube page GirlfriendReviews has already come under attack by the leftist cancel culture mob for daring to play the new game.
The Act Man, a Twitch streamer with hundreds of thousands of followers, joked on Twitter that the boycotting of the game has “turned into targeted harassment,” adding, “Think I’ll take 2 copies of Hogwarts Legacy now.”
Meanwhile, the game being boycotted in the name of “transphobia” is the first product in the Harry Potter universe to feature a transgender character.
People Magazine writes, “The Harry Potter universe seemingly introduces its first transgender character in the new video game Hogwarts Legacy.”
“The game (available on select platforms this Friday) features a character who runs the Three Broomsticks named Sirona Ryan, who gamers believe to be transgender based on a line of dialogue, though it’s never explicitly clarified.”
The transgender character explains in the game that it took their Hogwarts classmates a while to learn they were “a witch, not a wizard.”
So, Rowling was not involved in the creation of the Hogwarts Legacy video game and the game features a transgender character, yet the outrage mob is seeking to destroy the reputation of anyone streaming the game online.
Proving they’re totally unaware of the Streisand effect, the cancel culture promulgators helped Hogwarts Legacy become the best-selling game on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC days ahead of its official launch, according to Forbes.
