HBO late night host Bill Maher ripped Joe Biden as a weak leader on Friday following the 81-year-old’s admission that he’s quarantining himself in Delaware after contracting COVID.
Maher made the point during a discussion with Biden’s Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg after he argued that Biden is the best candidate to face off against Donald Trump.
“But the argument isn’t really about that. I think most Democrats think he did do a good job. The argument is about, can he win?” Maher retorted.
Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) told him, this week, that she does not think he can win. She’s pretty savvy,” he noted.
“Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), I said this a week ago, I said that once the dam breaks, everybody is going to be coming aboard. How can he [survive]? And now he has COVID, he’s going to really run for president from a hospital bed?”
Maher then slumped over like a patient in a hospital bed before saying, “America needs strong leadership. And I –.”
He straightened up and said dryly, “It’s just — it gets ridiculous, Pete.”
Biden insisted that Biden’s symptoms are mild and he’ll be hitting the campaign trail again soon.
Talk about projecting strength!
