A Republican lawmaker referred to a transgender congressman from Delaware as a man, illustrating how the Trump effect is rippling through Congress.

“The chair recognizes the gentleman from Delaware, Mr. McBride, for five minutes,” Rep. Mary Miller (R-Ill.) said last week, introducing Rep. “Sarah” McBride (D-Del.) for a House speech.

“Thank you, Madam Speaker,” McBride replied, going on to give his first House floor speech.

Rep. Miller’s “misgendering” of McBride ruffled the feathers of Democrat Rep. Nanette Barragán (D-Calif.), who followed up by saying, “Thank you, Mr. Speaker.”

The incident followed a heated exchange in Congress last week involving Rep. Nancy Mace (R-N.C.), who repeatedly said, “tranny,” after a Democrat attempted to criticize her language.

The Republican lawmakers’ rejection of political correctness comes as Donald Trump has signed numerous executive orders seeking to stop transgender insanity and end the woke left’s stranglehold on reality.
