A “homeless maniac” with a shocking rap sheet was arrested after he brutally beat a woman and tried to rape her in a New York City subway car, according to reports.
The horrifying attack unfolded just before noon on Friday in Manhattan.
Tyriek Martin, 34, approached the only other passenger in a train bound for Times Square and proceeded to slam her face into a pole, authorities told the New York Post.
Martin then allegedly jumped on the 34-year-old woman and began sexually assaulting her.
The victim’s cries for help were heard by construction workers who rushed into the train car and restrained Martin until police arrived and took him into custody.
Martin was charged with first-degree attempted rape, first-degree sexual abuse, and third-degree assault.
Incredibly, Martin has been arrested more than 70 times since 2006 and has a long history of random attacks on unsuspecting victims – including a 2-year-old girl in 2021.
The toddler was reportedly walking with her mother in Lower Manhattan when Martin bashed her in the face with a 20-pound suitcase.
The victim nearly lost an eye and still has scars to this day, her family told the Post.
“I just don’t understand why this guy’s still out there,” the child’s father said.
“As far as I’m concerned, this guy should be thrown away and then the key thrown away.”
On many occasions, Martin has been found mentally unfit to stand trial and released back to the streets.
He has reportedly told police that he enjoys smashing people in the face with glass bottles.
His latest victim is now recovering from a fractured nose and facial injuries.
