Government spending records have revealed that the Biden Administration is dishing out more than half a million dollars in grants to fund the development of artificial intelligence that will censor language on social media in order to eliminate ‘microaggressions’.

The Washington Free Beacon reports that the funding was part of Biden’s $1.9 trillion ‘American Rescue Plan’ and was granted to researchers at the University of Washington in March to develop technologies that could be used to protect online users from ‘discriminatory’ language.

Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton compared the move to the Chinese Communist Party’s efforts to “censor speech unapproved by the state,” calling it a “project to make it easier for their leftist allies to censor speech.”

The report notes that the researchers are developing machine-learning models that can analyze social media posts and ‘correct’ any language that could cause offence to ‘marginalized groups’.

Who are those groups? Basically anyone whose feelings are affected by hurty words.

The lead researcher, one professor Yulia Tsvetko, recently coauthored a study titled “Finding Microaggressions in the Wild,” which placed the so called microaggressions into subcategories, including the “myth” that “differences in treatment are due to one’s merit.”

Some of the examples of microaggressions she cites are statements like “Your mom is white, so it’s not like you’re really black,” and questions including “But where are you from, originally?”

The latter example is specifically relevant given a recent incident that garnered headlines:

Tsvetkov was also recently behind an article that amplified the “prominence of positivity in #BlackLivesMatter tweets” throughout 2020.

Tsvetkov argued that narratives framing Black Lives Matter protesters as angry and negative were misleading because some tweets mentioned “hope, pride, and optimism”.

All of this comes amid the ongoing revelations into the FBI and the Biden administration basically being embedded in Twitter, policing information on the platform.

Yesterday we highlighted the ongoing efforts of Universities throughout the country police language and implement their own versions of Newspeak as a way of saving students from being offended by words.

Google has also developed a Newspeak ‘correction’ tool that corrects whatever you type if it deems it to be potentially ‘harmful’.
