U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) agents captured a dangerous illegal alien from Venezuela who was in the process of committing a crime on Michigan’s remote Upper Peninsula this week.
On Tuesday, USBP Chief Michael Banks announced the arrest and impending deportation of a dangerous Tren de Aragua (TdA) gangbanger in Sault Ste. Marie, a small city that lies across the St. Marys River from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
The Venezuelan was “attempting to retrieve a previously seized vehicle” at the time of his apprehension, Chief Banks explained.
He was turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement for removal.
“So far in FY25, USBP has apprehended 174 illegal aliens with gang affiliations. Our agents remain relentless in keeping dangerous criminals out of our communities,” he stated.

Last Wednesday, USBP caught another TdA gang member not far from the Canadian border in Bismarck, ND.
USBP agents assisted the Burleigh County Sheriff’s Office in arrested the thug, a illegal alien with an “active association with the violent Venezuelan gang” during a traffic stop in the capital city.

On the same day, yet another member of an international criminal network was arrested in Dania Beach, FL.
He was identified as Leopoldo Andres Flores-Reyes, a Chilean citizen who overstayed his visa and was living in the U.S illegally.
“FLORES admitted to working with a South American Theft Group (SATG), known for burglary, fraud, and organized retail theft across the U.S.,” Chief Banks stated.
