President-elect Donald Trump announced the appointment of Devin Nunes to chair the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board.
The former congressman is currently CEO of Trump Media and Technology Group, which is responsible for the president-elect’s social-media platform, Truth Social.
On Truth Social, Trump wrote, “I am pleased to announce that I will appoint Truth Social CEO Devin Nunes as Chairman of the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board, which consists of distinguished citizens from outside of the Federal Government. While continuing his leadership of Trump Media & Technology Group, Devin will draw on his experience as former Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, and his key role in exposing the Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax, to provide me with independent assessments of the effectiveness and propriety of the U.S. Intelligence Community’s activities. Congratulations Devin!”
Nunes resigned from Congress in 2021 to head Trump’s media company. He had been the most senior Republican on the House Intel Committee. He sat on the committee in 2017 when it launched an investigation into possible Russian interference in the 2016 election. The next year he released a four-page memorandum alleging an FBI conspiracy against Trump, and began his own investigation into abuse of power by the FBI and Department of Justice against Trump.
In January 2021, Nunes was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by Trump.
Back in May, Alex Jones gave his support to Nunes as Trump’s vice-president pick.
“Everybody needs to put pressure on Trump to pick Devin Nunes, he’s smart, he’s loyal, he’s good,” Jones said on his show.
