Donald Trump significantly increased his share of the vote among key demographics in his stunning election win, in which he won the popular vote and captured all seven swing states.
Compared to 2020, Trump doubled his support among black voters, from 8% to 16%. He also gained 7% support from Hispanics.
Trump increased his support by 10% among voters aged 18 to 29, and nearly 5% among voters aged 30 to 44.
A majority of men voted for Trump, while among women, the Democrat advantage narrowed considerably over 2020. In 2020, Biden had a 24% lead among female voters aged 18 to 44, whereas for Harris that figure was 12%.
Analysis from The New York Times suggests that every single state saw a rightward shift, including Democrat bastions like Minnesota.
The Times noted that Trump made “gains among seemingly every possible grouping of Americans.”
