Donald Trump has promised to sign an executive order preventing the limitation of free speech by federal employees if he wins the election in November.
Trump made the promise at a campaign rally in Mosinee, Wisconsin, on Saturday,
“I will sign an executive order banning any federal employee from colluding to limit speech and we will fire every federal bureaucrat who is engaged in domestic censorship under the Harris regime,” the former president said, as he spoke about dishonest reporting by the mainstream media.

Freedom of speech has become one of the defining issues of the election, with Kamala Harris and her running-mate Tim Walz clearly in favour of restrictions to limit speech, especially on social-media platforms.
A clip recently resurfaced of Kamala Harris speaking in 2019 in which she took aim at social-media sites for “directly speaking to millions and millions of people without any level of oversight and regulation.”
In response, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said that Harris wants to shut down Twitter/X if its owner Elon Musk won’t bend to calls for censorship.
“Translation: If they don’t police content to conform to government-approved narratives, they will be shut down,” Kennedy Tweeted.
In the clip, Harris also talked about the need to remove Donald Trump from Twitter, because of the harmful effects of his Tweets.
As well as pledging to protect freedom of speech at the rally in Mosinee, Trump also said he would throw up unprecedented tariffs and protect Americans from the harmful effects of migration.
“We’re not going to watch our wealth and our jobs get ripped away from us and sent to foreign countries, and Wisconsin will be one of the biggest beneficiaries,” Trump said of his proposed trade policies.
He also warned that the 2024 election could be the nation’s last.
