CNN turned into Comedy Central Thursday, with correspondents struggling to maintain straight faces as they discussed a 19-year-old Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) employee nicknamed “Big Balls.”
The hilarity unfolded during a Thursday Erin Burnett OutFront segment featuring the anchor being briefed on Big Balls’ exploits ahead of joining Elon Musk’s government waste-cutting task force.
“So this is a 19-year-old high school graduate who has used the unfortunate nickname ‘Big Balls’ online,” Wired editor Katie Drummond breathlessly explained to Burnett, adding, “So that would be one way that we could refer to him. He is now working at Musk’s behest inside DOGE.”
CNN just unintentionally made the funniest news segment of all time.

They reported on a 19-year-old DOGE staffer whose online name is "Big Balls." 😂 pic.twitter.com/DCaOXuASsu
Rather than uncover a questionable work history, Drummond went on to reveal “Big Balls” was a sort of child prodigy who had at the age of 16 created a business that now controls numerous web domains.
The network’s coverage of his employee prompted laughter from Musk, who highlighted a lower third reading: “WIRED: DOGE TEEN, KNOWN ONLINE AS ‘BIG BALLS,’ NOW A GOVT ‘EXPERT.'”
“This was actually on TV,” Musk wrote adding several cry laugh emojis.
The leftist media’s outrage over the employee comes as Wired has been doxxing DOGE workers in an effort to sic the public on them and Musk.
Initially it was reported a DOGE team member resigned after “racist” posts were exposed; however, Musk ran a poll Friday asking users whether the staffer fired should be reinstated, receiving an overwhelming “Yes” response.
Asked Friday about reinstating the fired employee, Trump said he agreed with Vice President JD Vance’s assessment he should be brought back.
While Musk initially warned that doxxing DOGE employees was unlawful – responding, “You have committed a crime,” to an X user who posted the names – he later came around and began joking about their hilarious handles.
You have committed a crime.

As highlighted by Musk, the fact the establishment is desperately trying to stop DOGE from auditing federal agencies and saving taxpayers money by eliminating fraud and waste show they’re the ones profiting off the corrupt models.
“Hysterical reactions like this is how you know that @DOGE is doing work that really matters,” Musk wrote Tuesday in response to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY). “This is the one shot the American people have to defeat BUREAUcracy, rule of the bureaucrats, and restore DEMOcracy, rule of the people. We’re never going to get another chance like this. It’s now or never. Your support is crucial to the success of the revolution of the people.”
