A female suspect with a lengthy arrest record was released without bail after being charged in a brutal attack on a cellist performing in the New York City subway last month, according to reports.

Amira Hunter, 23, was apprehended on Wednesday night in connection with the unprovoked assault, which occurred on February 13 in Manhattan, as InfoWars previously reported.

She was charged with assault in the second degree and released, despite prosecutors pointing out that she skipped three out of five court dates related to other cases last year, according to the New York Post.

Hunter, a Brooklyn resident, also has a bench warrant for her arrest in two larceny cases, the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office says.

Hunter has been arrested at least eight times in the past, including twice for assaulting her own mother in 2019.

She was arrested in October for stealing bathing suits totaling more than $2,000 from luxury department store Bergdorf Goodman.

“The People have little faith that she will return to court of her own volition,” said prosecutor Alexandra Robertson.

Nonetheless, Hunter was set free on supervised release by Judge Marva Brown.

On the evening of February 13, Iain Forrest was performing at the 34th Street – Herald Square subway station when Hunter allegedly grabbed the cellist’s metal water bottle and bashed him across the back of the head.

The attack was captured on camera by multiple witnesses.

Forrest says he has been assaulted multiple times during performances in NYC will no longer be playing at transit stations due to the danger it presents.

“Two attacks in less than a year is two too much. I have been punched, choked, and now bashed in the head. I love performing for you all in the subway, but I’m at my breaking point and can’t take more injury or harm,” Forrest explained in a statement on social media.
