Footage obtained by TMZ apparently shows Trump’s would-be assassin opening fire from a roof.
In the footage, the shooter is filmed from ground level as he lies prone on the roof of a low building. Multiple shots can be heard as panic begins to spread.
A woman’s voice can be heard calling out a man’s name. Social-media users are debating whether she’s calling out the name of the shooter—“Crooks!”—or another man’s name. Others say she is shouting “Ross!”
“[inaudible], what are you doing!?” the woman cries. “Get over here!”
By the end of the short video, the shooter has apparently been neutralized.
The FBI has now identified the shooter as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. The site of the rally, in Butler, is an hour’s drive north of Bethel Park, a middle class city in the greater Pittsburgh area.
After shooting Trump and killing a bystander and injuring two others, Crooks was shot and killed by the Secret Service.
Biographical details about the man identified as Trump’s would-be-assassin are still sketchy, but it is being reported that Crooks was a registered Republican.
A Whole Bunch Of Questions.
