A Justice Department official was caught playing up the COVID-19 hysteria by putting on his mask seconds before appearing on camera only to theatrically take it off as the cameras roll.
Acting DOJ Public Affairs Deputy Director Marc Raimondi is seen loitering backstage without a mask, when he’s cued to head to the stage to deliver a briefing.
He then puts his mask on, picks up his folders from the floor, and heads to the podium — where he immediately takes his mask back off.
The COVID theatre was not lost on users on social media.
