The United States will no longer be a “dumping ground” for foreign criminals under a second Trump administration, the former president said in an interview on Sunday.

Trump spoke to Sharyl Attkisson on “Full Measure,” as part of a wide-ranging interview in which he discussed the economy, the attempts on his life, and his plans to reverse the Biden-Harris immigration policies.

Attkisson asked Trump whether the optics of a mass-deportation program, especially images of women and children being deported, would make it impossible to implement.

“Most people seem to think you can tighten up the border, and for the untold millions who are here illegally, that you have referred to, you talk about a ‘mass deportation program.’ How is that practically possible, because a lot of the millions of people have had children here who are American citizens, and don’t you think the first time there is an image of a family being told to board a bus, that the program would end?”

“That is right,” Trump relied. “If you take a young woman with two beautiful children and you put her on a bus, and it ends up on the front page of every newspaper, it makes it a lot harder.”

Attkisson: “So yes to mass deportation even of women and children?”

“We are looking at it very closely. The way you phrase it is exactly right, you put one wrong person onto a bus or onto an airplane, and the radical left lunatics will try and make it sound like the worst thing that has ever happened. But we are getting the criminals out and we are going to do that fast, and we know who they are. The local police know their names, and they know the serial numbers and everything about them. We work with the local police and local law enforcement, which is great throughout the country.

“Look, we have people, we have murderers that have been let into our country, and they’re not going to get better. We have people that are insane and the mental institutions, the mental institutions all over the world have a much lower population, and in many cases, they have been emptied out. The jails are down to much lower numbers and soon they will be emptied out. They are emptying out into the United States of America.

“We are not a dumping ground. We are going to get all those people out and we are going to get them out fast and we have no choice, because that is not sustainable by any country.”

Trump also vowed to reduce the cost of living quickly if he returns to the White House.

“They come down with energy and they come down with interest rates. We’re going to get, as I told you, we’re going to get energy down by 50 percent in 12 months.”

“I’m not just talking about cars. I’m talking about air conditioning, heating, your basic energy, operating a bakery, operating any kind of a business—it’s all having to do with energy.”

Trump confirmed 2024 would be his last run at the presidency.

“If you’re not successful this time, do you see yourself running again in four years?” Attkisson asked the former president.

“No, I don’t,” he replied. “I think that will be—that will be it. I don’t see that at all.”

“I think that hopefully we’re going to be successful,” he added.

In light of the two recent assassination attempts against him, Attkisson asked Trump if he’s ever “scared.”

“I can’t be scared,” Trump replied. “Because if you’re scared you can’t do your job. I just can’t be. I have thus far had somebody protecting me.”
