Around the time of the inauguration of President Donald Trump, European politicians and officials have floated sending ‘peacekeepers‘ to Ukraine to fight Russia. Trump has said he plans to end the war in Ukraine and meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin ‘very soon‘ after taking office. This meeting has yet to take place.
“With Russia wearing down Ukraine’s stretched forces and new U.S. President Donald Trump pressuring the two sides to end their nearly 3-year-old war, Kyiv and some of its European allies are discussing how that might be achieved in a way that would guarantee Ukraine’s future security,” the AP said Friday. “Several ideas have been floated in the past, but the one currently gaining currency would station thousands of European troops in Ukraine, though not under a NATO banner, to serve as a deterrent and rapid reaction force should Russia invade again — an apparent non-starter for Moscow.”

The US and other NATO countries are supposed to send soldiers to Ukraine after the war and call them peacekeepers?

Why would Russia accept that?
Sending them there against Russia's will also implies NATO has to be ready to go to war with Russia if they end up getting attacked. pic.twitter.com/Fwm9aGo41C
On January U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer said that his country ready to consider sending British forces to Ukraine to help ‘guarantee the peace’ when the war eventually comes to a halt.
On January 18 German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said Germany may consider deploying its troops in a peacekeeping mission to ‘monitor’ a potential ceasefire in Ukraine.
Ukrainian ruler Vladimir Zelensky said on Tuesday that he seeks 200,000 Western peacekeepers.
In a commentary on the matter by Tarik Cyril Amar on RT, the true nature of these troops was elaborated on. Based on the current situation in Ukraine, what the ‘peacekeepers’ will experience while deployed in Ukraine and how they would factor into Ukraine’s goals based on Ukrainian ruler Vladimir Zelensky’s statements, the deployment would only serve to dramatically escalate the war.
“What exactly these troops would be doing in Ukraine remains hazy. They would not be a peacekeeping force because they would be siding with one party of the conflict, Ukraine. And yet, proponents of these schemes promise they would not be on the front lines fighting against Russia because they would either be introduced only after an end to the fighting, or they would somehow remain in the hinterland, thereby freeing up Ukrainian forces for the front,” Tarik Cyril Amar said on RT. “None of the above makes sense. As long as the fighting continues, there is no hinterland in the sense that the troops would be spared real fighting and dying, because Russian airstrikes can reach them everywhere even now, and, depending on further developments, so may Russian land forces in the future. Moreover, once these troops enter the country, Kiev would, of course, do its best to get them embroiled in great bloodshed, including by provocations and false flag operations. The aim would be to drag these ‘allies’ so deep into the quagmire that they wouldn’t be able to get out again.”
Russia has firmly rejected the notion of filling Ukraine with unfriendly peacekeepers.
On Thursday Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said the idea was totally unacceptable to Russia and would cause an uncontrollable escalation.
Interestingly, Ukraine has spared a number of demographics, such as young adults, from the meat grinder.
On January 6 former British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said that Ukrainian ruler Vladimir Zelensky should have drafted all men and women into battle, due to the country only drafting starting at age 25, not 18.
These younger Ukrainians may be purposefully spared until the country needs an infusion of more soldiers to continue the war into the future.
