Police in St. Petersburg, Florida, are actively searching for a driver who did donuts on an LGBT “pride” mural painted on a downtown street.

The incident took place around 2:30 am on Wednesday morning, with security footage showing the vehicle burning rubber on the rainbow-colored road.

A local news report explained the driver faces a criminal mischief felony if caught.

Another news segment talked with a gay bartender working at a nearby bar called, “Ride ‘Em Cowboy,” who claimed “there’s people obviously out to get” people who “are part of the LGBTQ.”

The city is upset it will be forced to spend over $1,000 to repaint the street.

Podcast host Breanna Morello noted on X, “If you don’t want tire marks on your political statements, don’t paint them on the streets we all drive on.”

The vandalism comes just about a week ahead of the LGBT’s “Pride” Month.
