Sparks flew during “The View” over whether or not viewers should panic over President-elect Donald Trump’s ascendency to the White House in January, with co-host Ana Navarro insisting they “have the right to panic” ahead of his second term.
Co-host Whoopi Goldberg urged viewers to ignore Trump’s “noise” and enjoy the holidays with friends and family, but a freaked out Navarro wasn’t having any of it.
“He makes lots and lots and lots of noise…He does this to keep you all in a panic. He does it to make y’all do this and talk about him and it’s so terrible,” Goldberg said.

“All we have to do from now until January 21st is be with our families, be with our kids, do our jobs, make sure our checks don’t bounce, make sure that we are taking care of ourselves and our families,” she continued. “Whatever he’s going to do, he’s going to do, but do take our word for it. Things seem to move slowly, because, yeah. They didn’t come get Hillary, but he has other people who are ready to go, but I don’t think that they can just go out and do what they want to do.”
But Navarro flew off the handle, claiming illegal aliens and women government officials “have a right to be in a panic” because Trump is going to come after them.
“If you are an illegal immigrant in this country, you’re not going to be not in panic! If you are a woman working for the Department of Defense, you have a right to be in a panic!” she cried.
Goldberg tried to walk Navarro back from the cliff, saying “Ana, you tell people to stay fraught and like this. That is not —”
“No! I’m telling people to prepare, Whoopi. I’m telling people to prepare!” Navarro shot back.
Goldberg asked, “Do you think they aren’t prepared? They are prepared!”
An apoplectic Navarro went on, “That means they can’t be relaxing and enjoying Christmas when winter is coming!”
“No! That doesn’t mean that. You know what? I’m sorry,” Goldberg replied. “Winter is – babe, winter is here! Winter has been with us!”
Navarro shrieked, “Yeah, but my point to you is we are in a privileged position that a lot of people are going to be under his attack are not!”
“I have a family who is going through the same thing! Ana, calm down!” Goldberg shot back.
Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin chimed in to jab at Navarro’s over-the-top fear-mongering.
“I’m on his enemy’s list and I’m not panicking,” she said as she raised her hand. “We just have to live. You have to live. This is the United States of America…Live your life.”
Just another typical day at “The View.”
Last month, “The View” co-hosts were divided over the notion of encouraging viewers to avoid pro-Trump friends and family during the holidays, with Sunny Hostin and Ana Navarro predictably supporting the idea.
